  1.  Experiment:  Physiology lab exercises for courses using
Elaine Marieb's Human Anatomy & Physiology Laboratory
Manual, 8th Edition, Benjamin Cummings Publishers, are
      now available.
iWorx/CB Sciences has released seven physiology experiments allowing its kits to be used in exercises that compliment the activities presented in the 8th edition of the Human Anatomy & Physiology Laboratory Manual, authored by Elaine Marieb and published by Benjamin Cummings. The exercises are: electromyograms (EMGs) and muscle strength; electroencephalograms (EEGs), reaction times; electrocardiograms (ECGs); peripheral circulation; cardiac muscle activity; and, respiration.

Registered iWorx users can download the high resolution, press-optimized PDF files of all seven experiments, suitable for printing. Lower resolution, screen-optimized PDF files of each individual experiment for use as helper files, and the settings file for these experiments, are also available for downloading. A locked, screen-optimized pdf of the exercises is also available for examination on-line.

  2.  Article:  Flowheads with different ranges now available.

Flowheads with different ranges of linearity are available for use with the SP-304/300 spirometer. The A-FH-1000, with a linear range of -1000 to +1000 liters/minute, is suitable for performing certain lung function tests and measuring respiratory volumes from human subjects that are exercising. Three smaller flowheads are more suitable for measuring volumes from small animals that range in size from dogs to mice. The common feature of all these models of flowheads is that they all have good linearity in their respective normal range.

  3.  LabsOnCD - View Online Demo
LabsOnCD is a browser-based, interactive virtual physiology lab containing over 50 lab exercises in cardiovascular, neuro-muscular, and respiratory physiology.

In addition to content and background for each exercise, each LabsOnCD module provides an experimental data player that allows the student to actually record real experimental data much as they would do in a physical or “wet” lab setting.  LabsOnCD modules contain detailed setup information about the labs that the student is expected to perform. Setup information includes animations, diagrams, video clips of dissections and photos of actual equipment set-ups. Each module has step-by-step instructions for the student, just as a lab manual would. The student is expected to make measurements from the recorded data and produce a lab report.

  4.  Web Resources
We have accumulated a host of links to informative, external physiology Web sites and conveniently categorized them into major sub categories for easy reference.  Please visit our external links page frequently to see the latest updates.
  5.  Trade-in Specials
We have recently acquired a large supply of GRASS FT03 variable range Force transducers and P23id / P23xl reusable pressure transducers. Many of these items are BRAND NEW and are offered at up to 75% off original list price. Call for price and availability but hurry these will go fast. Also check with us about trade in allowances for your older Powerlab or Biopac equipment. See specials
