  1.  Article: Photosynthesis in Isolated Thylakoids
The process of photosynthesis, the production of sugars from carbon dioxide and water, occurs inside chloroplasts in higher plants.  The process can be divided into two sets of reactions: light-requiring reactions that transform
light energy into chemical energy; and, non-light-requiring (dark) reactions that utilize the energy from the light reactions to produce sugars.  In this lab, students will study the light reaction and measure the effects of light intensity, the coupling of ATP production to electron transport, and the consequences of blocking the movement of electrons between the two photosystems found in thylakoids.
