Making Physiology Happen

Kidney Diffusion and Conductivity

Urinalysis looks at a variety of chemicals in the urine to determine if the kidneys are functioning properly.

This lab looks at the conductivity of urine samples to determine what molecules or ions are diffusing across a dialysis membrane. This helps to understand the types of chemicals present in a urine sample.

This experiment can be performed easily in the student lab with iWorx physiology teaching system.
